How do I know which program is right for my dog?

The best starting point is a consultation. We'll assess your dog's age, temperament, drive, and behavioral history — then recommend the program that fits your goals and your dog's needs. If you're unsure, the 10-Day Foundation Board & Train is a solid entry point for most dogs.

What age does my dog need to be to start training?

We work with dogs as young as 4–5 months for foundational obedience. For board & train programs, we typically recommend waiting until at least 5–6 months. Behavior modification programs are available for dogs of any age.

Do you work with all breeds?

Yes. We work with all breeds and sizes — from high-drive working breeds like Belgian Malinois and German Shepherds to family dogs, rescues, and everything in between. Our methods are adapted to the individual dog, not the breed.

What happens during the initial consultation?

We spend time getting to know your dog — observing how they respond to pressure, reward, and direction. We'll talk through your goals, your lifestyle, and any behavioral concerns. From there, we'll recommend a program and walk you through exactly what to expect.

What does "balanced training" mean?

Balanced training means we use the full spectrum of communication tools — praise, food, play, pressure, and release. We don't rely exclusively on reward-based methods, and we don't rely exclusively on corrections. The right tool depends on the dog, the behavior, and the context.

Do you use prong collars and e-collars?

Yes. Both tools are included in most of our programs. They are introduced carefully, used fairly, and explained fully to every owner. In our hands — and yours — these are communication tools, not punishment devices. We teach you exactly how to use them before you leave.

Is your training method safe for my dog?

Some adjustment is normal in the first day or two — just like any new environment. After that, most dogs settle in quickly and thrive with the structure and consistency of daily training. We monitor every dog closely and adjust our approach based on how they're responding.

Where does my dog stay during board & train?

Your dog stays in a structured, supervised environment with daily training sessions, exercise, and socialization built into the routine. We treat every dog in our care as if it were our own.

How often will I get updates on my dog?

We send regular progress updates throughout your dog's stay — including videos so you can see the work in action. You'll never be left wondering how things are going.

What happens at the end of a board & train program?

Every board & train ends with an owner transfer session. This is where we hand the skills back to you — walking you through how to use the tools, how to give commands, and how to maintain what your dog has learned. You leave with a trained dog and the knowledge to keep it that way.

What if my dog needs more time than the program allows?

We'll let you know early if we think your dog would benefit from additional time. Extended stays can be arranged. We'd rather take the time to do it right than rush a dog through a program.

How long do the results last?

Training results are only as lasting as the follow-through at home. That's why owner education is built into every program. Dogs that are handled consistently after training maintain their skills long-term. Dogs that aren't will regress — that's true of any training method.

What if my dog regresses after training?

Regression is usually a handling issue, not a training failure. We're available after your program ends to help troubleshoot. In most cases, a short tune-up session or a refresher on handling technique is all it takes to get back on track.

Do you offer follow-up support after the program ends?

Yes. We stay available to answer questions and help you work through challenges after your program is complete. We want your dog to succeed long-term — not just on graduation day.

Can my dog learn off-leash reliability?

Yes — off-leash reliability is a core goal of our 3-Week Board & Train and above. It requires a solid foundation, proper e-collar conditioning, and consistent proofing in real-world environments. We don't rush it, but we get there.

What is included in the program price?

All board & train programs include daily training sessions, housing, feeding, exercise, and the tools used during training (prong collar, e-collar where applicable). Private lesson packages include the prong collar. There are no hidden fees.

Do you require a deposit to hold a spot?
